Slow Food DFW expanding Slow Food’s international Snail of Approval program to recognize local restaurants, businesses and food producers that are making a significant contribution to improving the food system.
Now, local food producers that are working to make good, clean and fair food for all can receive the Snail of Approval. This powerful award helps bring attention to amazing restaurants, farms, food artisans, farmers markets and more that are excelling in two or more of these areas: sourcing, environmental impact, cultural connection, community involvement, staff support, and/or business values.
“Slow Food DFW will now bring the internationally recognized Snail of Approval to North Texas to exemplify those upholding the values and practices of our thriving local food system,” said Amanda Vanhoozier, Slow Food DFW Chair.
Local Snail of Approval Awardees will be presented with the internationally recognized Snail of Approval Decal and be listed on the Slow Food DFW website, plus be placed on the Slow Food USA national Snail of Approval Map. This map will assist users to find Snail of Approval businesses across the US that are embracing the slow food mantra of good, clean and fair for all. The Snail of Approval award has provided international recognition of food businesses who are committed to joy and justice for decades.
