Moss Haven Farm – 10 Year Anniversary Event

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Moss Haven Farm, Moss Haven Elementary’s school garden program. In honor of the milestone, the Farm is throwing a special celebration on Saturday, April 30, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Oak Highlands Brewery, a longtime supporter.

The event will bring together the community for dinner and a program to thank past and present volunteers. It will also recognize those whose leadership has led to a successful decade-long program and share how the Farm has and continues to benefit every student at Moss Haven Elementary. ABOUT:       

Moss Haven Farm exists to cultivate a respect for the earth and food-growth process in Moss Haven Elementary students. Our vision is that they will develop a lifelong interest in responsible environmental practices, seek to live a healthy lifestyle, and cultivate a passion for giving back to the community. In addition to enriching academics, our program seeks to spark positive growth in our students’ families and our community. Seeds sown on a simple grassy patch in March 2012 have now grown to 23 raised beds, a farm field, and chicken coop. Moss Haven Farm has been recognized as an American Heart Association Teaching Garden and has been awarded United Way’s Healthy Zone School.
