Slow Food DFW recognizes there are organizations, community gardens and farms that are dedicated to and passionate about growing food, community and understanding for equity that is place-based, demographic-based and purchasing-based. The Growing Grants program has been created in order to fill gaps that we see in traditional funding sources for local food-related projects. Priority for funding will be BIPOC lead, use of local skills and resources and availability of locally grown food.
Micro-grants of $500 will be awarded from Slow Food DFW to support local food producers working to create a more resilient, equitable, diverse, and healthy food system.
Growing Grant Applications are now available with a deadline of March 31st. These applications will be distributed through several urban ag groups and organizations, social media and word of mouth. Please help spread the word about the Slow Food DFW Growing Grants!
